Text Box: Disqualification at the Olympics
Text Box: The US has done great at the Olympics, but I disagree on a call an official made. Apolo Ohno, with eight medals, went in to the 500 for another. It was the final lap and he was in 4th on his way to 3rd, but he had his hand on the person in 3rd. Suddenly the person in 3rd fell, Apolo quickly dodged him and passed the finish line in second. Right after the man in 3rd fell; the man in 2nd trying to get to first fell on his own. The officials disqualified him because his hand was on the man who had fell; it looked like he might have bumped him a little, but not enough to make him fall. In my opinion Apolo should not have been disqualified just because his hand was on him and there was a little bump, but they might have seen it at a different angle. From what I saw the man in 3rd bent his skate too far to the ice, and slipped. I’m saying I’m right, but I would have made a different call. By: Steven Kriley
