The Jr. High wrestling team had a meet at Phillipsburg on Thursday, February 11.  The teams they faced were Norton and Phillipsburg. Skyler Campbell went 0-2, Brody Frieling 2-0, Austin Allen 1-1. They all wrestled at less than 100 pounds. Clint Rogers and Mason Buckmaster both went 2-0 wrestling at 100 pounds. At 110, Steven Kriley went 1-1. Kody Zabel went 0-2, Josh Cole and Ryshawn Powell both wrestled at 120 pounds and each went 0-2.Wyatt Oliver went 1-1 pinning his second opponent with 1 second left. Grant Lambert won both of his matches. After pinning his first opponent, Cole Lorenzen won his second match and went 2-0. Josh Nichols had 4 matches disappointingly losing all of them. Nick Johnson wrestled at heavyweight wrestling the same kid twice, losing the first time and winning the rematch. Tanner Campbell, Wyatt Wagner, Nicholas Lehmkul, and Shane Hubbard could not wrestle. There were a lot of close, well fought matches at this meet. Over all, it was a great night for Redmen wrestling.

Spotlight On…

This week’s spotlight is on Na Young Choi! She is a Foreign Exchange Student from South Korea staying with the McDowell Family. Her favorite color is purple. She loves Smith Center because it is not huge city, and she can get fresh air.  She also loves the people here because they are very kind, but most of all she loves the snow. She has made lots of friends here including Rachael, Kat, Charlotte, Lucy, and Cassy. Her hobbies are listening to music, talking with friends and family, and hanging out with friends. Her favorite Korean food to eat is Kimchi, but her favorite American food to eat is rice with a fried egg.

My question was, “Who do you think will win the Super Bowl?”

The results were as follows:

Colts - 21                      Saints - 38

This poll was taken before the big game.

38 were right and 21 were wrong

The final score was Colts 17 and Saints 31.
