Text Box: 8th Grade Boys Basketball Season Review
Text Box: 	Smith Center was seeded sixth in the 2010 MCEL tournament. We played Ellis, who was ranked third. The starting five for the game were Kody Molzahn at point, Grant Lambert and Clint Rogers at guards, and Cole Lorenzen and Taylor Zabel at posts.  Sitting on the bench were Steven Kriley, Nick Johnson, Tristan Sasse, Robert Strine, and Tanner Campbell. In the first quarter we scored 11 points and in the second quarter we only scored 6. In the third and fourth quarter we only scored 2 points. Our lead scorer was Kody with 11 points. Next was Cole and he scored 4 points. Taylor and Nick tied, both getting 2 points. 19 points were scored total. The end score was 19 to 35. Sadly, Smith Center didn’t get to go on.

Text Box: 	This year the 8th grade boys’ basketball team went 4 and 5. The Redmen lost some close games early, all by few points.  During the middle of the season we did well and came up with some exciting wins. Throughout the season we got better and learned from past mistakes.
	Starting out the season we had a loss to Osborne by a score of 18 to 24. Kody Molzahn was the leading scorer with 10 points. Our second game we played Norton and lost a close one by the score of 23 to 25. Kody Molzahn was our leading scorer with 10 points. Hill City was our third game and the Redmen came out with a win, with a score of 35 to 25 with Grant Lambert and Kody Molzahn leading in points for the team. The fourth game of the season we lost to Ellis 30 to 44. Cole Lorenzen and Kody Molzahn tied for the leading scorers with 9 each. The fifth opponent the Redmen faced was the Stockton Tigers. We won that game with a score of 39 to 25. Cole Lorenzen was the leading scorer of the night with 10 points. The sixth game we played was to Trego, where we lost 31 to 35. The leading scorer was Kody Molzahn with 18 points.  Plainville was our next opponent where we won 30 to 24. Kody Molzahn led the scoring for the Redmen with nine points. As we came into the Smith Center tournament we lost 18 to 28 against the Trojans. Nick Johnson and Kody Molzahn both had eight points for the leading scorers. Our second game of the tournament we had a 33 to 46 loss vs. Belleville. Kody Molzahn had thirteen points to lead the Redmen in scoring. We came up with an exciting win against our rivals the Phillipsburg Panthers with a score of 33 to 30.  Kody Molzahn had fifteen points. At MCEL the Redmen lost their first game to Ellis 19 to 35.
