Text Box: On October 12, 2009 Smith Center Redmen played the Norton Blue jays. This game was for the league championship. The game started off with an 11 yard TD run by Clint Rogers, and he ran in the 2 pt conversion. This couldn’t have happened without the help of our offensive linemen. Our next score was a 4 yard run by Kody Molzahn. The 2 pt conversion was no good, unfortunately. We scored again with a 38 yard run by Kody Molzahn, which was because of the good blocking by our line. The 2 pt conversion was good, ran in Text Box: by Clint Rogers. The score at half time was 22-0. We only scored once in the second half, which was on a 17 yard run by Grant Lambert, the 2 pt conversion was no good. The final score was 28-0.
Text Box: Text Box: Although we have to pat our backs for winning league, we really do have to thank all of the parents, teachers, and coaches who helped make all of this happen. We could not have done this without them.

Text Box: That was the first half of our season, and by the second half, we were definitely coming together as a team. We played Ellis the week after playing Felton, and we won that game 38-0. The next week we had to go through some adversity, losing to Phillipsburg 22-6 in our second game against them. Finally, we Text Box: played Norton at home, which we won 28-0. That win against Norton clinched MCEL for us, capping off a magnificent season.

Text Box: The Smith Center Junior High Redmen finished off their fantastic football season with a win against the Norton Bluejays, making their record 5-1. Not only did they finish off their season with a win, but they also became MCEL champions.
Although we weren’t the biggest group of kids or the strongest group of kids, we managed to win the majority of our games and clinch MCEL. Our first game was against Plainville, at Plainville, that ended with the Redmen winning 46-0. The second game against Phillipsburg was a little closer, but again we won 42-26. Felton Middle School played us in our third game, which we also won 24-12.
Text Box: “We had a great season and we really came together as a team.”
